University–School Integration: VI International Education Seminar and Integrated Events UNITAU

The proposal “University–School Integration: Training and Scientific Cycle in Basic Education” is an initiative of University of Taubaté (UNITAU), through the Professional Master's in Education (MPE/UNITAU), and integrates the actions of the PROEXT-PG project, materializing the movement “the master’s degree goes to schools”. It is an institutional strategy that brings together an articulated set of academic actions, scientific and training aimed at strengthening the relationship between universities, school and community, expanding the social impact of postgraduate studies.

The event arises from the need to consolidate effective integration strategies between postgraduate studies and basic education, expanding the scope of research carried out and promoting the formation of critical subjects, autonomous and committed to transforming educational reality. In this context, PROEXT-PG is implemented as a structuring action by taking the knowledge produced in the master's degree to the daily lives of schools, while incorporating the demands and practices of basic education into academic production.

This is a large training meeting that integrates different actions and events:

• 5th Meeting of Pedagogical Practices in Basic Education
• 1st Scientific Initiation Congress of the UNITAU Application College
• II Monteiro Lobato Scientific Initiation Congress (CICMON)
• Working Group “Knowledge in Dialogue: university extension as a field for creating social technologies”, in partnership with Jornadas ESOCITE 2026
• I UNITAU Pedagogy Exhibition: “Becoming a teacher: reasons to CO-MEMORATE!”

The event is configured as a strategic milestone by consolidating, in a concrete way, the articulation between basic education and higher education. In this scenario, scientific initiation stands out as a structuring axis, promoting student protagonism, the development of scientific thinking and the insertion of students into academic culture from the initial stages of training.

The partnership with Escola Estadual Monteiro Lobato expands the scope of the proposal, strengthening collaborative networks and highlighting the school as a space for knowledge production, pedagogical innovation and citizenship training, in line with the PROEXT-PG principles of territorial action and university-school integration.

The event strategically responds to contemporary demands in education, such as:

• promoting pedagogical innovation;
• strengthening inclusion and equity in educational contexts;
• critical use, creative and meaningful technologies;
• valorization of initial and continuing teacher training;
• strengthening institutional and interinstitutional networks;
• effective integration between universities, schools and community;
• consolidation of teacher training and scientific initiation as structuring axes;
• valuing innovative and inclusive pedagogical practices;
• expanding the reach and visibility of scientific production in Basic Education;
• strengthening of UNITAU as a hub for articulation between teaching, search, educational extension and innovation.

The program promotes exchanges between researchers, teachers, students and managers, articulating teaching, research and extension in an integrated perspective, collaborative and socially committed. Stands out, still, dialogue with the Latin American field of science, technology and society, especially through the partnership with the ESOCITE Journeys 2026, expanding the international dimension of the event.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS), especially the SDG 4 – Quality Education, the event reaffirms the commitment to inclusive education, equitable and quality, contributing to the sustainable educational development of the region.
