The University of Taubaté (UNITAU) registration is open for theXV International Science Congress, Technology and Development (Cicted 2026), which will be held between the days21 e 23 October, at the Communication and Business Campus (CEN), in Taubaté, with in-person activities and online transmission.
Consolidated as one of the main scientific events in the Paraíba Valley, the congress will bring together students, teachers, researchers, public managers, professionals, entrepreneurs and representatives of society in programming focused on the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
In this edition, the theme“Their Science: Scientific Dissemination and Training for Regional Development” proposes a reflection on the participation of girls and women in science, valuing their trajectories and contributions in different areas of knowledge, without restricting the discussion to the female audience. The proposal incorporates the perspective of gender equality into debates on health, education, technology, sustainability, innovation, cities, human rights and regional development.
Over the three days of the event, Cicted will promote conferences, round-tables, workshops, Circles of conversation, scientific work presentations, extension activities, exhibitions, innovation actions, scientific communication initiatives and awards, strengthening integration between teaching, search, extension and innovation.
Registration is free and open to different audiences, from Early Childhood Education students to postgraduate researchers, in addition to teachers from Basic Education and Higher Education, professionals, representatives of the productive sector and members of the community. There will also be participation from foreign researchers and institutions, expanding the University’s internationalization process.
In addition to scientific activities, the congress includes different types of work presentation, including scientific initiation, graduation, distance education, academic leagues, university extension, teaching, postgraduate studies, research and innovation projects. Paper submissions will be open between29 July and 14 of September.
For the Vice-Rector of Research and Postgraduate Studies at UNITAU, prof. Dr. Monica Franchi Carniello, Cicted represents one of the most important moments in the University's scientific production and the rapprochement between science and society.
“Cicted materializes what we understand as a university: a space where I teach, search, extension and innovation permanently dialogue. By bringing together participants from different training levels and areas of knowledge, the congress strengthens scientific culture, expands the dissemination of research and creates collaboration opportunities that go beyond the limits of the University.”
The president of the organizing committee of XV Cicted, prof. Dr. Juliana Marcondes Bussolotti, highlights that the event was designed to bring science closer to people and encourage the participation of different segments of society.
“More than presenting research, Cicted promotes meetings between those who produce knowledge and those who can transform it into solutions for society. In this edition, We seek to expand this dialogue through accessible activities, interdisciplinary and connected to contemporary challenges, also valuing female protagonism in science and the University's commitment to regional development.”
The congress also reinforces UNITAU's institutional commitment toSustainable Development Goals (ODS) of the Agenda 2030 United Nations Organization (HIM). TheODS 5 – Gender Equality will be the transversal axis of this edition, articulating themes such as innovation, quality education, sustainable cities, climate action, health, reducing inequalities and strengthening national and international partnerships.
