O Prof.. Dr. Cristovam da Silva Alves, permanent professor of the Professional Master's Degree in Education at the University of Taubaté (AND-UNITAU), participated, as a collaborating researcher, research developed by the Carlos Chagas Foundation (FCC) in conjunction with UNESCO, dedicated to the analysis of continuing teacher training.

The results of the study were published in an e-book by UNESCO, expanding the production of knowledge about policies, continuing education modalities and practices developed in the Brazilian educational context.

The research contributes to understanding the challenges related to teaching professional development and to the debate on policies and training actions capable of responding to the needs of teachers and education networks. The theme dialogues directly with the academic and professional trajectory of the Professor. Cristovam, which develops studies in the areas of initial and continuing teacher training, professional development, teaching professionality and collaborative research.

The professor's participation in the research highlights the insertion of MPE-UNITAU in nationwide research and collaboration networks, bringing scientific production developed in the Program closer to reference institutions in the field of educational research, such as the Carlos Chagas Foundation and UNESCO.

For MPE-UNITAU, Participation in studies of this nature strengthens its area of concentration in Teacher Training and reaffirms the Program's commitment to the production of knowledge aimed at improving education, to teacher training and the development of research-based educational policies and practices.
