Taubaté celebrated, in May of 2026, the 8th edition of Pint of Science, consolidating itself as one of the important hubs of the largest scientific dissemination festival in the world. The event, whose mission is to take science beyond university walls with an accessible and welcoming language, had the support of the University of Taubaté (UNITAU), which acted as an institution that carried out. The regional coordination of Pint of Science Taubaté is in charge of teachers Fabrina
Moreira Silva and Amanda Romão, both teachers of the Professional Master's Degree in Education (MPE) from UNITAU.
In 2026, the festival reached a new record in Brazil, taking part in 213 cities in all regions of the country. This significant number places Brazil as the country with the largest number of participating municipalities, highlighting the population's growing interest in scientific knowledge produced nationally. The event reinforces its commitment to the democratization of access to knowledge, being free and open to the public, no prior registration required.

Highlights of the program in Taubaté
With a diverse and engaging program, the event was held on the days 19 e 20 of May, buzzing local bars with debates on topics ranging from physics to psychology and environmental preservation.
- 19 of May – Caldinho São Dimas: The public was able to watch presentations on
- “Physics Show” with Profa. Dr. Amanda Romão. The eating habits of crabs, Prof's theme. Dr. Valter Jose Cobo. Ocean biodiversity, explored by Profa. Dr. Isabela Ribeiro Rocha de Moraes.
- 20 of May – Pedro's Bar: The second day was marked by thought-provoking discussions, including behind the scenes of the scientific police with Fernando Pereira Maiello. Research on dengue carried out by Dr.. Renato Pereira de Souza. The relationships between finance and therapy with Profa. Dr. Andreza Maria Neves Manfredini. A reinterpretation of Lygia Clark with postdoctoral students Michael Santos Silva and Fernanda Jardim Maia.
