The Postgraduate program at the University of Taubaté (UNITAU) Registration is open for a new Professional Master's Degree in Education (MPE): “Pedagogical Practices for Equity”. The project is financed by Instituto Canoa, which applies the methodology of the Teaching Specialization Program (Ped Brasil) in the subjects involved in the new course.
Those interested in being part of the program can register until 14 July on the UNITAU website. Classes take place on Saturdays, in person. are offered 45 vacancies for mathematics teachers. Of these, 35 give the right to a full scholarship and are intended for teachers from the State Education Network and the Regional Education Directorates of Taubaté and Pindamonhangaba.
“Pedagogical Practices for Equity” is the third line of research in the area of Teacher Training for Basic Education. The program also includes the lines “Inclusion and sociocultural diversity” and “Teacher training and professional development”. The Profa. Dr. Juliana Marcondes Bussolotti, coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Education at the University, highlights that these are all important and emerging themes.
“The object of study and research of the course is teacher training for Basic Education, analyzing the teacher training itself, the public policies that influence this formation, the cognitive and learning processes that underlie it, pedagogical alternatives, methodologies and technologies that support it”, explains.

About the Professional Master's in Education
The MPE is a stricto sensu master's degree lasting two years. Throughout the program, Master's students must take subjects in the areas of concentration and prepare a dissertation to be defended in front of a panel of doctors in the area.
“The fundamental objective is to train Basic Education teachers committed to overcoming Brazil’s educational problems and prepared to adapt their educational practices to different sociocultural realities, favoring the inclusion and learning of all students”, explains the coordinating teacher.
At the end of the master's degree, the professional must be prepared to work in different spheres of private organizations, public and non-governmental, with a view to training focused on Education.
