The University of Taubaté (UNITAU) perform, this Saturday morning (27), the presentation of the work of the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBID). The event, which will be held at the UNITAU Auditorium, will feature the participation of scholarship students and supervising professors.
PIBID is a program of the Ministry of Education (GUY) which aims to encourage the training of new teachers for basic education. The program guarantees scholarships to the students and teachers involved and aims to contribute to the improvement of teacher training at higher education levels and to improving the quality of Brazilian public basic education..
In total at UNITAU, 107 students are part of the program that aims to encourage teacher training. “These scholarships reduce the dropout rate from undergraduate degrees, and allow these scholarship holders the possibility of carrying out their learning in a safe situation, supervised and having an income for it”, highlights the coordinator of PIBID, prof. Dr. Suzana Lopes Salgado Ribeiro.
The work presentations will be an opportunity for scholarship holders to share their experiences and learning with the academic community. The work involves several undergraduate courses such as Pedagogy, Story, Lyrics, Physical Education and Biology.
The 5th semester History student, Marina Parede Felix, highlights that the experience in the program was decisive for her to pursue her degree. "For me, Being present in this project changed my perspective and raised awareness of my training, have qualified supervisors nearby who are willing to help me, made the entire journey easier and more enjoyable. The program showed me the reality experienced by public school teachers, the difficulties, the obligations, the routine and especially the eminent satisfaction in being in the classroom as teachers, This first contact with students and school managers was essential for my future as a teacher”, ends.
