Active Participation in Training in Anti-Racist Education and Racial Equity

In day 22/07/2024, the teaching team from the city of Tremembé received training with teachers Heloisa Maximiano, Maria Carolina Santos Cendretti Rodrigues, Regiane Carina da Silva and Tamires Quesada Furtado on Anti-Racist Education through a lecture entitled: PATHWAYS TOWARDS ANTI-RACIST EDUCATION: THE CRITICAL RACIAL LITERACY OF EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF RACIAL EQUITY.

Professor Suzana Lopes Salgado Ribeiro, deputy coordinator of the MPE was present at the event presenting the program's lines of research that are linked to the discussion of the theme.

The lecture was a compilation of themes developed in the training track PATHWAYS TOWARDS ANTI-RACIST EDUCATION: THE CRITICAL RACIAL LITERACY OF EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF RACIAL EQUITY. The trail is the result of research by the Pedagogical Practices Team of the Municipal Department of Education of Taubaté and is being applied with various groups working in Education. In the first semester of 2024, the trail was developed with the pedagogical and administrative teams that work at the Department of Education and School Units. Not second semester, will apply to school managers.

The lecture was an extremely important moment for compliance with laws 10.639/03 e 11.645/07 for the municipality of Tremembé and was provided as the opening of a Training Trail that will be carried out in the second half of 2024 with this teaching team.

The trainers, scholars of the topic, has focused on developing pedagogical practices aimed at equity in teaching through anti-racist education.

The urgent and extremely important topic for education is the object of study by the MPE student – ​​Linha 3 of this University and one of the trainers, Maria Carolina, who develops the research EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES FOR EQUITY: strategies for teaching anti-racist mathematics guided by Prof. Dr. Caesar Augustus Eugene, director of the Pedagogy course at this University and professor of the Professional Master's in Education.
