Project by Daniela Teodoro, student of the Professional Master's in Education at UNITAU, encourages playful reading practices in Taubaté school systems.
Student Daniela Teodoro, of the Professional Master's in Education (MPE) from the University of Taubaté (UNITAU), was selected as a finalist in the Taubateano Educator of the Year Diploma competition 2025 with the project “Maleta de Leitura: Bob's Adventures: Learning and Having Fun with Reading”. The awards ceremony takes place this Thursday, 16 October, at 2:30 p.m., in the Plenary of the Taubaté City Council, in celebration of Teacher's Day.
The “Reading Suitcase” brings together a portable collection of children’s literature books, magazines, mediation materials and the character Bob, who accompanies children in storytelling activities, shared reading and autonomous exploration of the collection. The proposal strengthens the love of reading, expands vocabulary and stimulates imagination, integrating experiences in the classroom and in open spaces in the city.
The project dialogues with MPE/UNITAU principles when articulating pedagogical practice, didactic innovation and teacher training, valuing active methodologies and the rapprochement between schools, family and reading community. The initiative is developed under the guidance of Prof. Dr.. Fabrina Moreira Silva.
MPE/UNITAU congratulates Daniela on her classification and wishes her excellent participation in the ceremony. The presence of “Bob’s Suitcase” among the finalists celebrates the strength of reading as a daily policy of human and civic formation.
