
Aware of its role in contributing to the development of the Paraíba Valley Metropolitan Region and North Coast (RMVLM), where it is inserted, The University of Taubaté (UNITAU), through the postgraduate programs in Environmental Sciences and Ecodevelopment and Environmental Management promote another edition of Environment Week, that will happen between the days 5 e 7 June 2025.
With the commitment to form highly qualified human resources to face the complex contemporary environmental challenges, Postgraduate programs in Environmental Sciences and Ecodevelopment and Environmental Management has as its mission to produce and apply scientific knowledge focused on regional and national demands. Its projects include from the study of changes in land use and occupation to issues related to increased energy and water consumption, to the generation of waste, to climate change, Biodiversity and Environmental Health.
The schedule of 2025 reinforces this commitment through activities that connect science, Public Policy and Social Responsibility. The event will start on the day 5 of June, at 19h, with one Round table broadcast on TV UNITAU: “Brazil in focus on COP30: Climatic commitments and environmental justice ”, mediated by prof. Dr. Willian José Ferreira. The discussion participates in the discussion of environmental research in Brazil, like Profa. Dr. Adriana Massaê Kataoka (Unicenter), o Prof.. Dr. Widinei Alves Fernandes (UFMS), and the teachers and researchers at UNITAU PRO. Dr. Gilberto Fisch, prof. Dr. Juliana Marcondes Bussolotti and Prof. Dr. Edson Trajano Vieira. In day 6 of June, at 19h, face -to -face not CEN Miniauditory, the conference occurs “A Taubaté Environmental Panorama: past, present and future ”, MSC. Gabriel de Miranda Alcântara, Current Municipal Secretary of the Environment of Taubaté. The lecture will provide a critical analysis of the social and environmental evolution of the municipality and the challenges that still persist, articulating local policies and future perspectives.
Closing the programming, the day 7 of June, at 8h, will be dedicated to Minisseminary Postgraduate Programs in Environmental Sciences and Ecodes Development and Environmental Management, Also in the Cen Miniauditory. The event will have the Presentation of projects funded by Fehidro, o Launch of the Sala Verde Project Registration and a exhibition of projects developed by the faculty of the program.
A Environment Week 2025 It is open to the entire academic community and external stakeholders, and with free registration by the Even3 platform.
This is an invitation to reflect together on the role of science, education and citizen participation in the construction of an environmentally fair and sustainable future.
