The work presented here is the result of the Study Group Art Education and Creation, anchored in the CNPq Education Research Group: professional development, diversity and methodologies, from the University of Taubaté. In this study group regularly execute seminars, Circles of conversation, Workshops and discussions about methodologies related to art education and creative processes. The project began with a reflection of participating teachers about their experiences and experiences from contact with art in their lives stories. Participants of the Art Education and Creation Study Group were invited to reconstruct their memories, having as indicative the following aspects: family relationship in childhood with art and culture, Childhood games, the art manifestations present in the family and community, What did you learn from art at school, and how art is currently inserted in personal practices and teaching practice in different areas of professional action. The reports were gathered by constituting chapters of this book under the suggestive title: ‘Life with art: Teacher memories'.
