In the context of discussions and disputes surrounding the next National Education Plan (PNE), o V PPGE/USCS Educational Policy and Management Seminar, that will take place on the days 16 a 19 October 2024,will have as its theme the “Education Challenges for the Next Decade: reduce inequalities, valorizar diversidades e combater a emergência ambiental”.
               
We hope that the proposed program inspires and encourages new reflections on the dilemmas and challenges of a educational praxis committed to combating all forms of injustice and social violence that undermine human dignity, a democracia e a sobrevivência do planeta.

The opening lecture was given by Prof. Dr João Pedro da Ponte, which dealt with the professional development of teachers and curriculum change, announcing different models of teacher training from different countries and, also, uma experiência voltada para a prática da formação de professores da escola básica que ocorreu nas escolas públicas.

In day 23/05, at 2pm was our oral communication, entitled Investigating one's own practice: an experience in the professional master's degree. Professors Dr João Pedro da Ponte and Dr. Dario Fiorentini, que pesquisam e realizam ações de formação de professores que ensinam Matemática.
In the days 24 e 25/05 round tables and oral communications were held, among them the table entitled Different relationships between the curriculum and the training of teachers who teach Mathematics, that addressed different perspectives, including Lesson Study, much defended throughout the seminar, because it is a training process in which teachers learn in practice and have the opportunity to reflect, to analyze, discuss and plan your lessons, tendo como foco o conteúdo matemático.
The lectures and oral communications were very significant, served as inspiration for our ideas and pedagogical behaviors. It also served us, to understand how our Professional Master's in Education program is engaged and meeting the current demands of teacher training, about everything, in teaching Mathematics!

In the explanations made by the coordinators of the postgraduate programs about the strategic plans of each course, We have the presentation made by the MPE coordinator, Juliana Bussolotti, listing the achievements achieved in these 10 years of existence. Everything was conducted by the Dean of Graduate Studies, the teacher. Monica Franchi Carniello, que brindou o evento com esclarecimentos sobre os eixos norteadores da pós-graduação na universidade.

Emerging themes treated with necessary seriousness and which were discussed in the midst of a climate of much motivation, partilha de experiências e confiança nas perspectivas do desenvolvimento da Pós-graduação na UNITAU.

The Professional Master's Degree in Education (MPE) from the University of Taubaté (UNITAU) will promote three events this week in order to establish a suitable space for the exchange and presentation of information. With the theme “Paths of education in the teaching and learning processes: reports and investigation of school reality”, The meetings aim to encourage reflection and discussion of the context experienced in schools.

To be able to apply knowledge in the best way, Master's students and professionals in Education must understand, with depth, the reality of school institutions, not only those who work, but also those spread across the country and the world. Then, having a greater understanding of the current school reality, eles conseguirão ligar as necessidades dos alunos com os métodos e estratégias mais adequados para atendê-las.

The Profa. Dr. Juliana Marcondes Bussolotti, MPE coordinator, shares the importance of awareness of the contemporary educational landscape for educators. “It is important for us, education professionals, entendermos como se dá a prática educativa em outras regiões e países para dimensionarmos a realidade educacional num contexto para além do brasileiro”.

That said, the Master in Education promotes the 4th edition of the “International Education Seminar”. In day 7 from December, American educator Lisa Jilk will give a talk to participants on the theme “Noticing and Naming Students’ Mathematics Strengths”. Furthermore, in day 8 from December, Professor Isabela Abreu will share the role of educators in promoting equity in Education, também por meio de uma palestra.

Already on the day 9 from December, will be carried out: the “5th Meeting of Graduates” and the “3rd Meeting of Pedagogical Practices in Basic Education of the Professional Master’s Degree in Education”. The first aims to promote the exchange of experiences between graduates and master's students so that future masters understand the relevance, the applications and impacts of research carried out during postgraduate studies after the end of training. The second, provides opportunities for the circulation of knowledge among master’s students, professores da Educação Básica e de outros pesquisadores da área.

The coordinator explains the importance of bringing together a diverse audience. "Us [educators] we are made up of this plural public: postgraduate students are in the process of building or finalizing their research; graduates are experiencing the construction of teaching practices based on this new role of teacher researcher; and the school community likes to learn about the activities of a University. Thus, all groups are hungry to pass and acquire knowledge about Education. Then, nada melhor do que reuni-los anualmente em um espaço”.

Postgraduate at UNITAU

In 2024, the University of Taubaté will offer around 20 postgraduate courses – specializations, masters and doctorates – in-person and distance learning (EAD), covering the areas of health, of education, of management, of administration and business, of engineering, of environmental sciences, among others.

For those wishing to enroll in postgraduate courses, UNITAU has scholarships planned for partnerships, graduates and teachers of up to 25% discount, in addition to offering more than 40 scholarships for courses in the strict sense financed by the Foundation for the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), as quais permitem o exercício de atividades remuneradas durante os estudos beneficiados.

Dr. Katia Celina da Silva Richetto, Prof. Dr. Willian José Ferreira and Professor. Dr. Maria Teresa Teresa de Moura Ribeiro and work “Student dropout in the context of training science teachers in distance learning”, written by MPE teachers, prof. Dr. Katia Celina da Silva Richetto, to Prof. Dr. Willian da Silva Ferreira and Profa. Márcia Regina de Oliveira on issues involving the low attractiveness of the teaching career and the high dropout rate of students in undergraduate courses, what makes the EaD scenario complex and challenging. Entende-se que para reduzir a evasão nas licenciaturas de exatas na EaD é imprescindível investir em metodologias educacionais que acolham e auxiliem os alunos.

Upon returning from the event, teachers and scholarship holders will promote a live broadcast on the day 3 October, as 19h, online, para dialogar com os alunos do MPE e demais interessados sobre as perspectivas dos trabalhos apresentados com foco nas possibilidades de parcerias internacionais e as tendências das pesquisas voltadas para a formação docente na América Latina.
