A partida de Roseli toca profundamente nossa comunidade acadêmica. Para o MPE, não se trata apenas da despedida de uma professora e pesquisadora, mas de alguém que ajudou a construir a história do Programa e que fez da educação, da inclusão e da formação de professores uma escolha de vida.

Sua trajetória na Universidade de Taubaté foi construída ao longo de décadas. Iniciou sua história na instituição ainda como estudante de Pedagogia e, posteriormente, retornou como professora, pesquisadora e gestora, chegando à direção do Departamento de Pedagogia. No Mestrado Profissional em Educação, the teacher. Roseli integrou o corpo docente e construiu uma trajetória especialmente vinculada às discussões sobre Educação Inclusiva, diversidade sociocultural, teacher training, deficiência, dificuldades de aprendizagem e práticas pedagógicas comprometidas com o direito de todos à educação sendo professora na linha de pesquisa dedicada à Inclusão e Diversidade Sociocultural.

Como orientadora, acompanhou seus alunos não apenas na construção de dissertações. Esteve presente nas dúvidas, nas inseguranças, nas descobertas e nas conquistas que fazem parte da formação de cada pesquisador. Seus estudos e orientações chegaram às escolas, às salas de aula, aos professores e, principally, aos estudantes que necessitam que a inclusão deixe de existir somente nos documentos e se transforme em prática cotidiana.

Para nós, ficará também a memória da colega. Do sorriso largo, da conversa afetuosa, da presença serena, da disponibilidade para ajudar e da alegria dos encontros. As fotografias que hoje revisitamos deixam de ser apenas registros de momentos acadêmicos e passam a guardar pedaços de uma história compartilhada.

Roseli continuará presente nas pesquisas que orientou, nas dissertações que ajudou a construir, nos livros e materiais que produziu, nas práticas dos professores que formou, nas pessoas que acolheu e em cada estudante que, mesmo sem conhecê-la pessoalmente, encontrou uma escola um pouco mais inclusiva porque alguém aprendeu com ela a olhar a diferença de outra maneira.

O MPE/UNITAU se solidariza profundamente com seus familiares, amigos, orientandos, ex-orientandos, estudantes e colegas, compartilhando a dor deste momento e agradecendo pelo privilégio de termos caminhado ao seu lado.

Conforme as informações divulgadas pela família, a despedida da Profa. Roseli Albino dos Santos (24/04/1968 – 03/09/2026) ocorrerá no Memorial Sagrada Família, Capela 10, in Taubaté, com início às 23h do dia 3 de setembro e término às 10h do dia 4 of September, seguindo posteriormente para o Cemitério Colina da Paz.

Hoje nos despedimos com tristeza, mas também com uma gratidão que permanecerá. Querida Roseli, obrigada por tudo o que você construiu conosco. Obrigada pelos ensinamentos, pelas orientações, pelo cuidado, pela generosidade e pelo afeto. O MPE também é feito das pessoas que deixaram parte de si em sua história — e você deixou muito de si entre nós. Sua presença permanecerá em nossas memórias, em nossas pesquisas, em nossas práticas e, principally, em nossos afetos.

Às vezes, a pesquisa nos surpreende. Passamos anos formulando perguntas, organizando referências e construindo hipóteses até que, inesperadamente, a realidade responde antes mesmo da conclusão do estudo. Foi exatamente essa sensação que vivi ao presidir a comissão organizadora do Profoco deste ano. Enquanto acompanhava docentes, estudantes, técnicos administrativos e pesquisadores convidados refletindo sobre docência, inovação e compromisso social, tive a impressão de que minha pesquisa havia deixado as páginas do projeto para acontecer, viva, diante dos meus olhos.

Naquele momento, compreendi que uma universidade sustentável não nasce apenas de documentos institucionais. Ela começa quando a própria universidade decide escutar a si mesma. O que faz uma universidade ser, de fato, sustentável? Essa é a pergunta que orienta meu pós-doutorado, desenvolvido no Instituto de Psicologia da Universidade de São Paulo (IPUSP), intitulado Mapeando Vozes, Escutando Silêncios: uma Cartografia da Universidade Sustentável. A resposta não está apenas em planos institucionais, indicadores ou relatórios. Está, about everything, nas pessoas que constroem diariamente a instituição e nos diferentes sentidos que atribuem à própria sustentabilidade.

O Profoco tornou visível aquilo que a pesquisa procura compreender. Uma universidade não se transforma apenas por incorporar novos conceitos aos seus planos. Ela começa a mudar quando cria espaços de escuta capazes de reunir perspectivas distintas e construir, a partir delas, um horizonte comum.

Na abertura do evento, uma reflexão da Profa. Dr. Rosamaria Cox Moura-Leite Padgett, fundadora e coordenadora da Rede UniSustentável, sintetizou esse pensamento. Segundo ela, a Agenda 2030 é um caminho seguro, e a universidade não deve ser espelho, mas farol. O espelho apenas reproduz a realidade existente; o farol ilumina os caminhos que ainda precisam ser percorridos. Since then, essa imagem me acompanha como uma síntese do que procuro construir na pesquisa e na docência.

Essa forma de compreender a universidade também dialoga com minha trajetória acadêmica. No doutorado em Filosofia da Ciência, investiguei a epistemologia de Pierre Bourdieu e sua crítica ao conhecimento científico. Aprendi que nenhuma instituição se explica apenas por indicadores ou discursos oficiais. Ela também é feita de relações, significados, disputas simbólicas e silêncios. Talvez por isso minha pesquisa tenha escolhido começar ouvindo antes de medir.

Percebi, then, que escutar a universidade exigia também criar instrumentos capazes de acompanhar essa trajetória de perto. Foi desse percurso que nasceu o OBSUS, o Observatório da Universidade Sustentável, hoje vinculado ao CEUS. Concebido inicialmente como apoio à pesquisa, tornou-se um espaço de integração entre conhecimento acadêmico e gestão universitária, reunindo projetos, indicadores, documentos e iniciativas de sustentabilidade da UNITAU. Ver esse trabalho apresentado durante o Profoco, ao lado de pesquisadores brasileiros e latino-americanos, foi perceber que uma investigação acadêmica pode ultrapassar os limites da produção científica e tornar-se parte da vida institucional.

Nenhuma universidade se torna sustentável apenas porque assim se declara. Ela se torna sustentável quando aprende a escutar a si mesma, reconhecendo que sua missão não é apenas transmitir conhecimento, mas produzir sentidos, formular perguntas e assumir responsabilidade pelo futuro que ajuda a construir.

Thomas More imaginou, em Utopia, um lugar que ainda não existe, mas que orienta nossa forma de pensar o mundo. Gosto de acreditar que a universidade sustentável também é esse horizonte: não um destino já alcançado, mas uma direção que nos convida, todos os dias, a construir um futuro melhor. Talvez ela nunca esteja pronta. Talvez seja justamente essa a sua maior virtude: continuar nos convocando a caminhar.

É para essa universidade que continuo dedicando minha pesquisa, minha docência e minha esperança.

The University of Taubaté (UNITAU) registration is open for theXV International Science Congress, Technology and Development (Cicted 2026), which will be held between the days21 e 23 October, at the Communication and Business Campus (CEN), in Taubaté, com atividades presenciais e transmissão on-line.

Consolidated as one of the main scientific events in the Paraíba Valley, the congress will bring together students, teachers, researchers, public managers, professionals, empreendedores e representantes da sociedade em uma programação voltada à produção e à divulgação do conhecimento científico.

In this edition, the theme“Their Science: Scientific Dissemination and Training for Regional Development” proposes a reflection on the participation of girls and women in science, valuing their trajectories and contributions in different areas of knowledge, without restricting the discussion to the female audience. The proposal incorporates the perspective of gender equality into debates on health, education, technology, sustainability, innovation, cities, direitos humanos e desenvolvimento regional.

Over the three days of the event, Cicted will promote conferences, round-tables, workshops, Circles of conversation, scientific work presentations, extension activities, exhibitions, innovation actions, scientific communication initiatives and awards, strengthening integration between teaching, search, extensão e inovação.

Registration is free and open to different audiences, from Early Childhood Education students to postgraduate researchers, in addition to teachers from Basic Education and Higher Education, professionals, representatives of the productive sector and members of the community. There will also be participation from foreign researchers and institutions, ampliando o processo de internacionalização da Universidade.

In addition to scientific activities, the congress includes different types of work presentation, including scientific initiation, graduation, distance education, academic leagues, university extension, teaching, postgraduate studies, research and innovation projects. Paper submissions will be open between29 July and 14 of September.

In day 9 July, the teacher presented the work entitled “Words that cross experiences: Neoliberalism and Gender in High School”, inside the panel “The Counter-Reformation of Secondary Education in Brazil: oppositions and resistance in Basic and Higher Education”, coordinated by Profa. Dr. Maria Lima, from the Curriculum Research Group, Culture and History (GEPEH/UFMS).

The presentation integrates the partial results of the research project “Teacher training in the context of educational policies: the implementation and relations between the New High School, a BNCC e a BNC-FP”, financed by Universal Call 2023 of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). The Profa. Suzana Ribeiro works as a researcher at GEPEH/UFMS, além de seu vínculo com a UNITAU.

The panel, who discussed the developments, contradictions and social and pedagogical impacts of recent educational reforms in the country, also brought together studies by researchers from UNICAMP, URCA and UFMS. According to the project coordinator, recordings of all presentations will soon be made available on the official GEPEH/UFMS social networks, possibilitando que a comunidade acadêmica e o público em geral acompanhem os debates apresentados no congresso.

The University of Taubaté (UNITAU) launched, not last saturday (13), during the event “Latin American Dialogues for the Environment”, the UNITAU Sustainable Observatory (OBSESSED), digital platform developed by Centro UNITAU Sustentável (CEUS) to monitor environmental indicators, integrar projetos institucionais e fortalecer a cultura da sustentabilidade dentro da Universidade.

The portal, available at unitau.me/Centro-UNITAU-Sustentavel, gathers information related to environmental axes, social and governance of the Institution, organized into monitoring panels and an inventory of actions linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) United Nations Organization (HIM).

Among the resources already available are water consumption monitoring panels, electrical energy and fuel, beyond the call “Lighthouse of Sustainability”, ferramenta visual que apresenta a situação dos diferentes campi e unidades acadêmicas a partir de indicadores de desempenho ambiental.

The proposal is to transform institutional data into awareness and decision-making instruments, bringing students together, professores e servidores dos desafios relacionados ao uso responsável dos recursos naturais.

According to Professor Profa. Dr. Fabrina Moreira Silva, deputy coordinator of CEUS, the observatory was created with the aim of integrating different dimensions of sustainability within the University.

“We are building a portal that integrates teaching, search, extension and management in actions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. The Observatory has a dimension focused on institutional monitoring, with water indicators, energy and fuel, and another dedicated to research mapping, projects and programs developed by the academic community. Our goal is to make this information accessible and encourage everyone's engagement in building an increasingly sustainable university”, explica.

In addition to operational indicators, the portal presents the inventory of initiatives linked to CEUS. currently, the system brings together 32 active objects, between research projects, programs, ações de extensão e produções acadêmicas relacionadas à Agenda 2030.

Another difference is the strategy of approaching the university community. In the next stages of the project, the University intends to install QR Codes in classrooms and academic units, allowing students to follow, in real time, o desempenho ambiental dos espaços que frequentam.

For the Vice-Rector of Research and Postgraduate Studies at UNITAU, prof. Dr. Monica Franchi Carniello, the launch represents an advance in the consolidation of sustainability as an institutional practice. “The UNITAU Sustainable Observatory translates, in a transparent and accessible way, the University's commitment to the Agenda 2030. More than monitoring indicators, the platform strengthens a culture of co-responsibility, connecting management, search, extension and academic training around concrete solutions to the socio-environmental challenges of our time”, destaca.

Evidence-based sustainability

Established by Deliberação CONSUNI nº 174/2021, the UNITAU Sustainable Center (CEUS) is linked to the Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies and works in articulating initiatives related to the environment domains, sociedade e governança.

CEUS’s actions are based on 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, added to the SDG 18 – Ethnic-Racial Equality, recognized in the Brazilian context. The work developed by the Center seeks to promote integration between scientific production, responsabilidade social e gestão universitária.

The launch of the Observatory is part of UNITAU's Environment Month programming, which brings together activities aimed at environmental education, divulgação científica e promoção de práticas sustentáveis junto à comunidade acadêmica e à sociedade.

The University of Taubaté (UNITAU) perform, between the days 20 e 23 of May, a series of academic and scientific activities aimed at integration between universities, schools and community. The program is part of the “University–School Integration: Training and Scientific Cycle in Basic Education”, organized by the Professional Master's Program in Education (MPE/UNITAU) within PROEXT-PG actions. The proposal seeks to bring scientific production closer to the reality of schools, strengthening the relationship between postgraduate, basic education and community. In practice, the project carries out research, debates and academic experiences into everyday school life, ao mesmo tempo em que traz as demandas da educação básica para o ambiente universitário.

The program brings together different academic and scientific actions, such as the VI International Education Seminar, the VII Meeting of Graduates, the 5th Meeting of Pedagogical Practices in Basic Education, the 1st Scientific Initiation Congress of the UNITAU Application College and the 2nd Monteiro Lobato Scientific Initiation Congress (CICMON).

One of the highlights is the strengthening of scientific initiation since basic education, encouraging primary and secondary school students to develop critical thinking, autonomia e contato com a cultura acadêmica desde cedo.

The event will also feature international lectures and debates on education, science, technology and society. Among the guests are Prof.. Dr. Steven F. Butterman, from Miami University, with the lecture “What does queer have to do with it?: the QueerMuseum in the classroom”, and researchers Michael LaRosa and José Carlos Sebe Bom Meihy, em uma mesa-redonda sobre América Latina e educação.

Another important axis of the programming is the valorization of teacher training and innovative pedagogical practices, with spaces aimed at sharing experiences between teachers, researchers, estudantes de licenciatura e pós-graduandos.

The initiative reinforces the proposal of a university connected to society and aligned with contemporary education demands, promoting inclusion, pedagogical innovation, strengthening education networks and integration between teaching, pesquisa e extensão.

According to the event proposal, the action also strengthens UNITAU as a space for articulation between basic education, scientific research and social transformation, ampliando o impacto das atividades acadêmicas na comunidade.

The program dialogues directly with the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) United Nations Organization (HIM), especially the SDG 4 – Quality Education, by promoting inclusive training, produção científica e fortalecimento da educação pública e da formação docente.
